Carmarthenshire County Council tendered the former Highways Depot in 2001 and Audley were subsequently appointed as the selected developer. Audley successfully negotiated an open A1 non-food planning consent although the site was allocated in the Local Plan for bulky goods only.
This scheme is strategically located adjoining the roundabout junction
of the A40 and A48 trunk roads. Nearby retailers include Currys, Comet, PC World, Allied and Focus.
The original development was forward funded by Newport Holdings Plc, now part of the Structadene Group which already owned the adjoining Carpetright and Harveys investment.
Phase 2 of the scheme extended the retail offer in 2005 by 5,000 sq ft and provided a pre-let unit for Brantano.
